Education, Training, Certifications, and Other Background Information:
My philosophical approach to my work:
My work as a Vermont-based ecologist is driven by a deep commitment to sustainable forestry and bird conservation. At Audubon Vermont, I advance ecological forestry practices that support healthy forest ecosystems, climate resilience, and wildlife, particularly forest birds. Through education, training, and partnerships, I empower foresters, landowners, and conservationists to adopt bird-friendly management practices. I lead a forester endorsement program that bridges science with practical application, integrating bird-focused habitat conservation into sustainable forestry. With a background in climate and vegetation research, I align forestry practices with the ecological needs of birds and broader ecosystem health, fostering a land ethic to ensure Vermont’s forests remain resilient and vibrant for generations to come.
